Description

Figure 363 from Chapter 15 (Cytoplasmic Inclusions) of 'The Cell, 2nd Ed.' by Don W. Fawcett M.D. A portion of a liver cell from the slender salamander, Batrachoseps attenuatus. This striking example of crystalline inclusion accumulation varies in the liver cells of the slender salamander by individual, and by season. The inclusions are often found near to endoplasmic reticulum. A PDF copy of the accompanying chapter is available on the ASCB’s BioEDUCATE website.
