A 2.75 hour Zebrafish embryo; the same embryo as in CIL 37403 --later in blastoderm development. The video shows dynamics in a perisagital section of the embryo. The sequence shows blastomeres dividing asynchronously. The surface cells begin to take on epithelial characteristics. A distinct yolk syncytial layer emerges. At each prophase, rapid movements of yolk platelets occur within the yolk. This video made available by Mark Cooper thru Zebrafish - The Living Laboratory. The videos in this group can also be found in the Developmental Landmarks page of the Fishscope web site.
