Description

Movie shows spindle assembly around DNA-beads in a Xenopus laevis egg extract. DNA beads are autofluorescent, and spindle is formed from exogenous X-rhodamine-labeled tubulin. By the end of the movie a well-defined spindle has formed. Images were capured every 60 sec with a Hamamatsu Orca-ER cooled CCD camera using a Nikon TE2000-U stand and a 40x 1.3 NA objective lens in widefield mode.
