Fluorescence images of mitotic chromosome spreads of control, SUV39H1 depleted, or Rad21-depleted HeLa cells showing the distribution of human structural maintenance of chromosomes (hSMC1, red) and Tripin/hSgo2 or CENPA (green). The merged images at right include DAPI staining for DNA (blue). Cells were observed with an Olympus IX70 microscope and recorded with a Magnaview CCD camera.
