Description

Living Lilium pollen tube imaged with DIC optics. Shown is the growing tip with the apical region devoid of cytoplasmic organelles. Other images in the group reveal the distributions of cytoskeletal elements and membranous components.

Technical Details

Germinated lily pollen was imaged with DIC optics using a using a Nikon TE300 inverted microscope with a 40x NA1.3 DIC objective lens and recorded with a Quantix Cool Snap HQ CCD camera.
